Did you know that all dogs are subject to a city leash law?

Picture
Your dog must be restrained at all times in public except in approved off-leash dog parks.  The neighborhood public spaces, including the nature trail, are NOT approved dog parks.

The size of your dog does not matter. Small dogs can run into the street and cause an accident just as easily as a large dog.  An unrestrained larger dog running up to someone out for a walk or walking their own dogs can cause many problems.  If you own a dog, please do the responsible thing and make sure your dogs are always on a leash and please make sure you clean up after your dog when out walking.

Let your light shine!

Picture
Porch lights are a sign of safety and community. Doing so illuminates the block and helps keep each other safe.  Crime tends to decline in neighborhoods that are well lit. Keeping your porch light on at night makes the street feel more welcome  (and safer) to residents who are out for a walk at night.

Neighbors may be trying to 'do the right thing' and clean up after a dog - if your porch light is not on it may be impossible to see in your yard - especially as it gets warmer outside and walks have to be made later and later.

Please be considerate of your neighbors if you have visitors

Picture
Please remember to ask all visitors to make sure they are not parking their cars in such a manner that it can prevent drivers from seeing other cars, motorcycles, or bicycles coming and may cause an accident.  Also, please avoid blocking pedestrian access to the sidewalks.

If you see a car that is improperly parked, blocking the sight of drivers, or obstructing a sidewalk, please call 311 and report as much information as you can; address, color of car and/or license plate number.
